The big end bearing kit (also referred to as the conrod bearing kit) provides the bearing shells between the connecting rod big end and the crankshaft crankpin journal, forming the primary load-bearing interface in the reciprocating assembly. Worn or failed big end bearings typically present as audible knocking under load, falling oil pressure, or visible metal contamination in the oil. KRP3012 is the standard (STD) size kit for the Perkins 2306 series variants listed below.

The KRP3012 is a standard-size connecting rod bearing. ZEB Power also offers two optional sizes:
KRP3012/025 — for reground crankshaft
KRP3012/050 — for reground crankshaft
If your crankshaft has been reground, measure the crankpin journal diameter before ordering. Contact us with your measurement and ESN to confirm the correct undersize variant.

FAQ
Q1. What is Perkins KRP3012 Big End Bearing Kit?
Perkins KRP3012 is a big end bearing kit for selected Perkins 2306 and 2806 series diesel engines. It is used between the connecting rod and crankshaft and is commonly replaced during engine overhaul or crankshaft repair.
Q2. Which Perkins engines use KRP3012?
KRP3012 is used on selected Perkins 2306 and 2806 series engines, including 2306TAG1, 2306TAG2, 2306TAG3, 2806TAG1 and 2806TAG2 variants.
The correct application should be confirmed by the engine Build List and ESN before ordering.
Q3. Is KRP3012 a STD-size or undersize bearing?
KRP3012 is the STD-size big end bearing kit. For crankshafts that have been reground, an undersize bearing may be required. The crankpin journal should be measured before selecting the bearing size.
Q4. What are KRP3012/025 and KRP3012/050?
KRP3012/025 and KRP3012/050 are undersize bearing specifications for crankshafts that have been machined or reground. The correct undersize should be selected according to the actual crankpin journal measurement rather than by engine model alone.
Q5. Do I need to provide the ESN and Build List when ordering KRP3012?
Yes, providing the ESN and Build List is recommended. Different configurations can exist within the same Perkins engine family. ESN and Build List information allows the application to be checked more accurately before the order is confirmed.
Q6. What if my Perkins crankshaft has already been reground?
If the crankshaft has been reground, do not automatically order a STD KRP3012 bearing. Please provide the crankpin journal measurement and engine ESN. We can help determine whether the STD, KRP3012/025, KRP3012/050 or another specification is appropriate.
Q7. Is KRP3012 used for Perkins generator set engines?
Yes. Selected Perkins 2306TAG and 2806TAG engines using KRP3012 are commonly found in generator set applications. The engine ESN and Build List should still be checked to confirm the correct bearing application.
Q8. Is KRP3012 a genuine Perkins part?
The KRP3012 supplied by ZEB Power is offered as a genuine Perkins OEM part. For customers who require additional verification, supporting purchasing or product documentation can be provided upon request.
Q9. Can I order KRP3012 without knowing the exact bearing size?
You can send us the engine model, ESN and any available part information first. If the crankshaft has been repaired or reground, please also provide the crankpin measurement. Our team can help verify the appropriate bearing specification before quotation.
